RB'd 220 CEK vs DEK Needle Differences
RB'd 220 CEK vs DEK Needle Differences
I have a RB modded 2003 220 (carb and head). Till now I have the CEK needle. I have a DEK in my desk here. Was wondering what difference would I get by switching to the DEK needle? What are your experiences with the CEK vs DEK? Is one preferred over the other according to riding style?

one has more of "hit" like the power gets on hard, fun for awhile but not woods friendly. I prefer the smooth delivery of the cek. Try it you'll see which one you like best
EDIT: not sure which one is which, but I know I have the smoother one in my carb might actually be the dek that's smoother...

I ran a CEK in my 200 all last season. Love the hit but for my skill level a bit difficult to control in the woods. I have some trouble finding a happy medium between wheel spin and looping out. Great in open areas like fields though. Have a DEK in my hand now but haven't had a chance to install/evaluate. Probably a month or two way.....I'm a fair weather rider and we're sitting under 30" of snow now.

Is this just differences in taper or something else? I've noticed the the CEK gives you a boost/hit some where between 1/3 and 1/2 of WOT.
