Tires

Post by svtman79 »

It is time to put new tires on my KDX220. Right now I am running Maxxis. Not sure of the model. I was wondering what the majority of you guys are running. I was looking at the m403 and m404 by Bridgestone. I ride a variety of terrain, so anywhere from sandy MX track to the swamps in Louisiana.

Which S-12 are you guys running? The XC or the regular soft terrain.

Have never tried a trials tire up front, and don't think I wanna. I run them out back though. I have run the IRC and the Pirelli MT43. I prefer the MT43 out of those two. Next time I will try the Mich or Dunlop.

Which size S-12 are you guys running? I noticed they are sized differently than normal tires.

Might want to consider the Mitas trials tire. I've run the Dunlop and Mitas may try the MT43.

I'll consider any trials tire! I have heard some good stuff on the Mitas. Most likely it will depend on which one I can get the best deal on at the specific time my MT43 needs replacing. At this rate it might be a while.

As for the S12 size, I think the 120/90 is about the size of a 110/100 in most other brands.

Depends on manufacturers

I run M5B 120/80/18

It's not too big

Oops I think it's an 80

Isn't the 120/80 the smallest s12 you can get? Good tires for sure, but they do wear out pretty quick. I hear the m12 lasts longer, but I haven't run one of them.
