Procircuit Pipe

Post by blueoval »

Hello everyone. I am new to this site and was referred here by a member of kxriders.com (I also have a 2000 kx500). I have a question about removing the procircuit pipe on my 2004 kdx200. I am having trouble removing it. Thank you, ted [/quote]

scheckaet, I have removed the springs, silencer, nuts, and it is not coming off. It seems to be catching on the shaft advance cover.

Really? That easy, eh?

I thought you ran an FMF?

'cause if it's anything like the FMF Woods pipe, you have to take the KIPS actuator cover off to wrestle the pipe on. The Desert pipe just goes on easy. Never tried the PC.

Any PC users out there care to comment?

I have the FMF wood gnarly torque or whatever you wanna call it that's the one for low end and I never had to remove the kips actuator. If you do, your pipe must be pretty messed up or it's not the same one we are talking about.

Enough tweaking, twisting, and turning, and eventually you'll get it off.

OK, my mistake. I was thinking about the pipe on my k5. The pipe on the kdx is an FMF Gnarly. And I swear it won't come off easy. It is not damaged at all. It is hitting the shaft advance cover and the cylinder head. I have pulled, twisted, turned, tweaked and it still won't come off.

So, it's impossible to get the shaft advancer cover off with the pipe in place. It doesn' need to come off anyway. I got the pipe as far forward as possible. Then I gave a gentle pry between the frame and the front of the pipe where it exits the cylinder and ...... bingo it came right out. I may sound stupid, but I was really struggling with getting that thing out. Oh, well, it will be a piece of cake next time. thx

You have a k5 blazer and your screen name is blueoval?

Sorry, couldn't help it!

For the record, my PC pipe fits as good as stock. Don't know about FMF's.
