IMS vs. Clarke oversize gas tank
Is there any difference in the two tanks, beside the price difference?

I've seen tanks where the shrouds are molded in and increase the fuel capacity. Not pretty, but functional.
In any case, get the opaque one. So much easier to see how much is left. Also, when stored, drain the tank back into your gas can. The premix will most likely stain the tank and make it not soo pretty anymore.

Why do you need a bigger tank on a KDX?

you know you can carry a couple of 1 liter soda bottles with gas in them on longer rides. The Schweppes tonic water ones are pretty strong and have a wider mouth. Backpacking stores carry aluminum fuel bottles if you want to not have anything to mix your gin with.

Sorry - it was $189 at Cycle Buy not $180. I bought the green but they have the clearish type and other colors too.bcdonyo wrote:Good choice! I will get one soon, desert terrain with sand washes hills etc., burns up a lot of gas. I've run out several times on other mounts and it's no fun. What color did you get and where did you find it for $180?NewMexico505 wrote:Thanks for the replies, I bought the Clarke for $180.

Do you have to get the clear one to see the gas level, or can you see it through the green tank?saddletramp wrote:I run the IMS, the extra .5 gallons is nice to have but the ability to see how much is actually in the tank is huge for me. Everyone knows that chicks dig the checkered flag graphics on the rad shrouds.
