Looks like the "H" brake lever is going to work fine as long as I can find a shorter spring for it. Other than that it is bolt on and done

Cool! Lookin good! I ran mine for a while wednesday night. Seems like it WANTS to be stronger then it was, but it was breaking up a lot. I didn't push it hard though. I'm off today so I'm gonna play around with the jetting a bit and see if I can get it right. It seemed to get really hot awfully quick too. Wondering if maybe the head gasket is leaking or something. I'd think if the jetting is off it'd be to the rich side, which doesn't add up with the high temps. Maybe I'll figure something out today....

Mr. Wibbens-
1. Did you make that skid plate?
2. Expanded metal for the radiator guards - great cheap trick !
3. The abrasive coating on your side covers - be interesting to see how your pants like it after a few rides. i.e. wear Does the coating seem to adhere to the plastic well?

A friend made the skidplate from a piece of scrap diamond plate and widened the pegs with a strip of stainless steel
It's pretty thin diamond plate, but it was either that or a really thick and heavy piece he had

A skid plate like that and you could ski behind a boat!! Wow! Maybe hydroplane across the next creek crossing.
I wouldn't worry about it being thin. I've seen 'em made of plastic and do the job. After all, you are trying to keep something from poking a hole in your cast engine casings, and that should do the trick.

Wow!
Finally took her out to see how she'd run
Wow!
Never even had to search for the SSS, it was spot on!
Has amazing pull on the bottom
About halfway up Poison Oak I started smelling hot antifreeze??
Some bone head forgot to tighten the clamp for the hose crossing over to the left radiator

Ever since I did the RB mod, many years ago...
When I start my bike when cold I have to turn the idle screw way out or it will idle too high. Throughout the ride as the motor warms I have to continually turn the idle back in...
Yesterday when I finally got it set at the optimum spot and got the clutch adjusted for the least drag, ohh man did it idle better than it EVER has. Long steep nasty downhills were so much more fun without having the motor continually die
Well time to go back up and do some exploring

Funny how you get used to how the bike handles and you think it is pretty good...
I went 6 clicks softer on the compression on my rear shock today and all I can say HOLY ****!!!!
I could not believe how much faster I could run with the shock absorbing all the bumps. Even when I'd purposely ride over the worst sections of the trail
Gonna try a little softer on the forks tomorrow...
