problem tightening my front axle to 88Nm. pick up meter.

Post by KDXsg »

Hi, anyone got this problem of while tightening the front axle, the speedo meter pick up turns at the same time.
I have checked the placement of the meter to the hub and the meter slot to the fork knob. the torque just force the meter pass the fork knob.

anybody can me with this? just for infor, I did tighten the axle first before going to the 4 pinch nuts.

:hmm:

Clean the housing and the axle (use some emery cloth or fine wet-n-dry to remove corrosion from the axle)..lightly grease it before assembly. That will reduce drag between the two.

There is a slot in the housing that fits with a boss on the fork that key the two together and keep the drive from turning.

I'm misunderstanding something....can't say as I understand the problem.
