Bike Performing Differently

Hi Guys.

My KDX220 is performing differently since i put the FRF exhaust spacer / Ring inside.

Oh - I've also topped up my transmission oil.

It feels like it is holding back and straining itself in first/second gear.

I am unable to get into third atm due to the very tight terrain on my property.

I don't whetehr this is due to the ring or something else...

Help?

Remove the ring and see how it runs.

Assuming I did not have that ring in there, and still had this "pulling back" sensation, what owuld cause this?

Checked your spark plug for fouling?

Let's not "assume" anything please. That gets nobody anywhere. Take the spacer out and test it again. Bet you can do it in less time than you have spent on this thread. I had one in my 200, hated it. Felt like it took WAY to much top end from the bike, and added only a little to the low end. Waste of money IMO, but I think I told you that already......

That is the general concensus. Jetting it correctly will take you further than anything else. Concentrate on that.

thanks, i will look into all these options..

i guess to describe it better would be to say it is labouring.

would putting too much oil in the transmission cause this effect?

Did your trans oil go into the exhaust?

Plugged up exhaust has those symptoms.

When's the last time you re-packed?

Check pipe AND muffler.

Thanks. How do you tell if trans oil wen tinto exahust?

Repacked - unknown when it was done (if at all).

I will check pipe and muffler.

Just remove the spacer!!

Shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes at the most. No need to start chasing after other things.

If you put too much oil into the tranny, yes, it can cause some extra drag. Probably not enough to notice unless you filled it up to the top of the fill hole or something silly like that...

I find it hard to believe the Torque Spacer would cause this.

Perhaps this torque spacer is doing what it intended - creating more low end torque and it is this increased torque I am noticing that is different...????

When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the answer.

Take the 15 minutes to pull the spacer out and give it another run. Why are you so reluctant to do this???
