Hmm, I think I would turn the plastic piece around. I have mine so that the plastic is at the same angle as the aluminum piece at the front. Maybe mine is bakwards though. Nice wheel BTW.

I don't have an FRP..but the slope of that lower block fits with the approach of the chain to the rear sprocket NOT the approach from the FRONT sprocket.

If my block looked like yours...my block would be backwards.

CC, maybe you don't ride backwards enough. I thought them-thar hills was steep in Jefferson. Surely, you've ridden backwards!

I don't get it. FRP says that running his block will allow you to run an O-Ring chain. The 220's came with an O ringer stock. Will I need the FRP one with my new chain? (Renthal 520 o ring)

The short answer is YES. The FRP guide is designed to work with an o-ring chain, so an o-ring chain will fit in it. The long answer has something to do with whether or not the chain will rub on the guide at all, and the answer to that is also YES. It will almost certainly rub. Guess that's just the life of a chain guide, rubbin on a chain all day long.

...and the chain keeps a rubbin all day long,
and the chain keeps a rubbin all day long,
with a heave,, and a ho,
but I just couldn't tell her so!

Thanks Juliend, now I can't get that danged song out of my head.

I was running a larger chain through the stock chain guide. Yeah it rubbed, but they all will. Chains and master links are wear items and need to be watched. I just measured the old larger chain and the width was 21.9mm at the pin heads. My current 520 O chain is 20.5mm. No motorcycle shop could identify that old chain for me or provide a master link. I think the previous owner just threw anything on there.

My point, oh yeah, you could run an o-ring through the stocker and like juliend said, it'll rub. Just upgrade the guide the next time you need blocks. It is significantly wider; by a lot! I'm actually concerned about slop and noise. We'll see.
