I've got a bottle out in my shop of all the leftover oil from my quart bottles I've mixed
It has equal parts of Maxima Super M, Maxima 927, Redline, Mobil MX2T and Lucas
I'll let you know how it all turns out
Question about adding different brand of premix oil

Re: 'which started giving me guff shortly after'
A guff-giving chain saw is just not acceptable!
In most cases when I have that problem, it's someone else's saw that does it. Yanno...the guy down the street continutally overdriving the clutch 'cuz the chain is so dull it can't cut air....liddle bits of sawdust flying all over, the smell of toasted wood (and toasting bar) in the air. Moron....
Thanks for your IMO on the TCW3. I've tried that spec oil in the KDX past...didn't care for it. It did work well in other applications, though. Even those it was not designed for.
Hence...the 'everybody has one' when it comes to oils.

No sense in debating oil.... Use what you want and what works for you.

IMO and all..but the benefit of such a discussion comes from providing answers to sincere questions about basics: 'What is TCW3?' , or, 'Why is it different', or, 'I didn't realize <it> was TCW3!' or other questions of the same basic nature.
But, as far as arguing against someone's choice of oil (or defending your own choice other than, 'I like it.')..certainly there is no sense in that.
I use the correct oil...everyone else is just wrong.

I was being nice.
The chainsaw ran like ****, and I mean really like ****, as soon as I started using that stuff. It wouldn't even idle. Nonetheless, I qualified it, by dismissing it as anecdotal evidence, something I rarely buy.
I never argue oils, only to say that I use x because it works for me, and
But really, everybody knows that Castor is the best

probably any decent oil will work fine.
