What is the big disadvantage of running a 19' rear wheel? I am getting all the parts I need for a KX125/KDX Hybrid but as you know the Kx's have a 19" rear wheel.

Thanks

Tire side wall height is less with a 19 inch - tend for more pinch flats during woods riding. That said - I know a lot of people who ride woods with a 19 inch tire.

Yep. Check the diameter of an 18" vs: a 19". They're pretty close to the same. The difference is sidewall, like IC said.

18's are easier to change. That's a good thing. Well, unless you have a Coates in your garage.

I hit my rim a LOT. I suppose a 19" would work, but I'd sure prefer an 18".

Also with a 18" you get more sidewall flex. More sidewall flex and lower pressure makes better grip.
I know this has nothing to do with a rear 19" but when I put the 20" front rim/tire on hitting square edged stuff it absorbed the spike to the bars better. The 20" had good grip but it did feel.....................like it wallowed or floated around.
The 19" with lower stiffer sidewalls wall have more of a tendency to deflect on objects rather than absorb and go over.
