Lost the thread about turning radius

Post by Colorado Mike »

Due to me working too much and managing the loss of numerous brayne cells during the 70's, I have lost the thread in which I was talking to Inda about the turning radius of the '03 KX forks on a KDX.

Anyway, I measured unscientifically by putting the bike at full lock, each direction, and holding it roughly vertical as I walked along side and measured the diameter of it's turning circle.

Left turn created a diameter of 186"

Right turn was 196"

The discrepancy could be accounted for by my own custom steering stops, possibly slightly different lean angles as I pushed, and also measuring anomalies that might have been factored out if I had done each test ten times and averaged them.

Mainly what I would like to hear is if anyone (Inda) has gotten dramatically smaller turning diameters after converting to '03 forks. The objective being to decrease mine to something less than the USS Nimitz.
