Wow, this thread got long and funny real quick.

FRP's site did get LAME! Couldn't be more than a couple weeks ago last time I perused there and he had MX style rear fenders in black and green for 89-94 and 95+ kdx's listed. Now it's all KX crap? sheesh, that sucks. The Maier unit is too pricey. The ones FRP used to list were made by UFO I'm pretty sure. How depressing. I was fully intending on purchasing a black one for my 89 in the very near future.

Can ya'll argue a bit more anyway? I find it quite entertaining....

For a 89... get a KX500 rear Fender.... any year since the frame never changed. A very easy fit!

Ok, whatever you want to call it. I call it quality entertainment, and I appreciate it greatly.

I'll send you a dolla one of these days, when I can find one.....

Good point on the KX500 fender. Indeed, most plastics and bits from KX500 seem to fit the 89-94 KDX's, which is good, since the aftermarket for these machines is dwindling rapidly.

Oh, btw, I emailed fredette and asked if he was done with the older KDX plastics and such. He said they were not done, just have not added everything back to the new site yet. He said shoot him an email if there's anything not listed that you need. KDX related, I presume....

Eh. Doesn't seem to fit for crap. Maybe it's just the UFO one I got though. Who knows. I've trimmed quite a bit to get it in there, but the back edge of the seat pan doesn't sit against the fender in a pleasing sort of way. I'll probably bolt a tool bag down back there to hide it or something. I think it'll work by the time I'm done with it. Sure LOOKS like it would fit in there.

Must be a difference in the UFO part. I ordered KX500 black rear fender from FRP. I had to trim the sides, back, and re-drill the rearward mounting holes (that part was expected). Was a bit of a PITA, but it looks great other than not quite lining up with the seat pan in the back. A tool bag secured back there will complete it. I'm happy with it over all.
