DEP exhaust for KDX200

Post by GreatBritishRob »

It has kdx200 96-99 stamped on the back
Anyway, bought it for just a few quid (pounds/dollars) the other day to have as a spare for my KDX220R. It fits fine and sounds ok, any other issues? I have the standard pipe and an FMF aswell. Usually run the FMF but may leave the DEP pipe on for now and try it out.

2T pipes have strong personalities. If it physically fits...that's good, but whether or not the pipe's tune does what you want it to is something else.

Re: '...and try it out.'

That'll tell you all you need to know.

Good luck!

Hi Rob was that the one on ebay last week that sold for £10.00 ?
If my bike had been running better I would have bid for it ,but as it is still stuttering at low revs I didn't want to add something to change it's set up.
Jono
Been riding off road for 10 years still finding out how best to do it.Riden a DR125 then a DT125R then a DR125 then DRZ400 then XR250 then a TE610 now I hope that I have found the best a KDX220 just to add the KDX has gone now riding a WR426 which I love and is so much better than the KDX.

Not that you asked...but if 'stuttering' means 4-stroking, the most likely culprit is a jetting problem.

Your bike will be a whole lot more fun to ride when you get that sorted out. Rob can help you with that!

It's running fine canyncarvr as it happens. Could maybe do with a slight turn in on the mixture screw as it just lacks a bit of punch low down in top gear but it's basically spot on and im just being fussy.
Anyway, it's only a spare although it's staying on the bike for now so i can give it a good run out at the weekend.
Yep Jono, it's the same pipe mate. not bad for a tenner. 5 minutes with a bit of autosol and looks like new. The sick thing is it may have helped your bike run better as it sound's like it's running a bit rich.
Pity your not a bit closer, we could have had a go at sorting it.

Sign up here Jono, it's only a little forum a few of us run to keep in touch (my brother, few mates etc) and we sort ride out's etc etc. Were down Salisbury plains soon, were down Surrey and area last week so on so forth.
Cheers Gents :partyman:
