What next?

Post by bezoar »

Have a "new" 2004 200 for recreational purposes. Have read and appreciated this site greatly. Based on info here, I have jetted, replaced front springs with XR springs, boyessen reeds, cleaned and lubed rear bearings, replaced chain and sprockets.

What should be the next maintenance item?

Thanks, enjoy everybody's thoughts!

Bearings - greased, Brake pads OK. Riding this weekend!

I am thinking that the radiator probably has never been flushed and this should be done - but not really looking forward to it. Brake fluid has probably also never been changed - but I am not looking forward to that either.

C'mon- those are both easier jobs by far than cleaning/regreasing the swingarm bearings!

Yup, you are probably right. But my last bike did not have a radiator or disk brakes

Good on ya then- welcome to the 80's! ;)

Those really are simple jobs- there's a drain screw in the waterpump IIRC (Pull it out, coolant drains. Put it in, system holds coolant again. Magic!) and IMO the best tool for brake bleeding is a big syringe (I get mine from mcmaster.com) and a length of tygon tubing.
