Fork oil height

Post by bezoar »

Anybody know the fork oil height for 2004 kdx 200 stock forks. The online manual says 85-89mm, but after adding the specified 530ml this seems off.
Thanks

Did you compress the forks all the way... pump them and take a measurement?

Thanks for your quick reply Inda
Yes, I pumped it and compressed it fully. I cant tell what the level is but it is lower that 90mm. I have just changed to the XR 400 springs, so based on other threads it seems like a level of 115mm might be softer for woods.

I think the 530ml is an approximate amount. I wish they would just give an amount instead of a measurement. But, the measurement is good to know in the case of fluid loss I guess.

So do you think that 115mm is a reasonable level to use?

It's worth a try... I went directly to KX forks from the KDX forks so I never messed with them much.
