My tagged KDX was stolen from my garage last night around 8:20.
I'm offering $500 reward leading to the recovery and/or arrest of the scumbag that did this. If you see parts on eBay from my area that gets this thief caught there will be some money it it for you too.

The bike was purchased from Ogre less than a month ago.

I will keep my eyes open ! I hope you catch the thief .

Any peculiarities to it? Devol pull rods...two bead locks on the rim...Hinson basket...modified carb..gold valves..anything that would raise a flag on ebay?

Sorry to hear about your bike. It's a terrible feeling of personal violation.
Since you had a street plate, did you also have to have insurance coverage in FL? If so, did you happen to have anything more than PL/PD?
I can't imagine how any insurance company could estimate a claim for replacement if it was plated, unless you can still plate them in Fl. It would be priceless.

Hope you get the bike back in full and in the same great condition it looks to be. We're all watching for your stuff on the markets.

I don't want to say too much about all of the steps I've taken to stop this turd but I'm trying everything I can think of..

It's usually a person close by that knew you had the bike and where/when.

I had a 2 week old bike stolen and it was the neighbor kid and his friend.

Think about anyone that's hung around the neighborhood. My neighbors kid was parked in his driveway directly across from my shop a couple day before and I remarked to my wife "I wonder what the half-wit is up too."

The theft of a bike from a home is very random they usually go looking for it.

That's too bad. I live about 25 miles south of Tallahassee. You should get in with the Tallahassee Trail Riders club. I will keep my eyes open. I do some trail riding in the Apalachicola Forest, just south of the airport. Your bike should stand out like a sore thumb in contrast to all the orange bikes around here. I have only seen one other KDX, besides mine. None with a black fender. So if it stays in one piece, it just may turn up. Maybe it was someone in your own neighborhood, like what was mentioned before. Kids or such.

Danfree. I probably should join TTR, and could get by without a tag. I mainly do a bunch of camping/dualsporting with the fellows over on ADVrider. I still have a '92XT225 for the trails, but it's a pretty pale comparison to the mighty KDX.
If my bike is not found I'll need to find another KDX before all this premix in my garage goes bad I REALLY want to find it, it was set up perfectly!

I thought most of these dual sport guys like the KLR 650's. Maybe you should look on this as an opportunity to dual sport a KLX450. That would one sweet bike out here. I had an XT225, but I traded it in for an FZ600. The little XT kept throwing me down in this deep sand. The KDX gives me a lot more confidence. I still fall down (not as often), but it sure is easier to pick up! The problem I have is to stay on top of the sand, I have to keep the rpm's up. But then I get intimidated by the trees and such. Chop the throttle and down I go! I practically slip the clutch all the time now, especially after I learned to keep my hand off that front brake. Maybe a medium sized thumper would be easier to ride. Did I mention the KDX is a lot easier to pick up?!

It's been quite some time since I've looked at the forum. I have not had any free time to ride lately. I can't ride this weekend either, but there are some TTR riders that will meet up at the Silver Lake trail head on Saturday at 1000 hrs. All the rain we have had lately should really help with traction in the sand. Just watch out for fallen trees! And snakes, of course. I have noticed lots of road kill snakes, possibly the wet has them looking for higher ground.
