Upping to 50:1

Post by 80elkster »

Since Mobil quit making their MX2T syn premix I'm going to try the Amsoil Interceptor at 50:1. I've been mixing at 40:1 and am jetted for it. Does anyone have an idea of how much that would change your jetting?? Just thought I would throw that out there before running a plug chop.
P.S. I have the RB Carb Mod.
Thanks

Two reasons I'm considering going to 50:1, 1)Less Spooge, 2) I'm cheep and can mix 12 1/2 gallons for each quart at 50:1 VS 10 gallons at 40:1.

With the Amsoil... if you are not running WFO I don't think it will hurt a thing. Was actually thinking about doing that myself.... rejetted of course.

I don't think it will make a difference on the spoo though. I think we have pretty much determined that the crappy fuel we get now is the major contributor to that.

Re: 'How much that would change...'

Just read about that recently...uh....ummm...here it is.

An erudite, thoughtful post by some guy 'spains it pretty good.

Sounds good, anyway. Don't know if it's right..................:hmm: He's been wrong before!

To bad Mobil quit making MX2T. That's good stuff. I scrounged around quite a bit and got a total of 4 1/2 gallons of Mobil MX2T. That should last me a few years anyway. I think anywhere between 40:1 -50:1 is fine. Just my 2 cents worth

I'm running 50:1

Did not rejet

Bikes runs better than it ever did at 40:1

Seems to have a lot more spunk than it did at 40:1

and lately..... less spoo

You know....I really only said that because if you have to ask about jetting doing something like this you might just be better off leaving it. Seems like you know what you're doing so just go for it, and get her dialed in.
