XR 400 springs question for the KDX

Question RonAyers.com lists two different part #'s for the 00 XR400 .40 front fork spring 51401-kcy671 and a 51401-kcy 761. Both are on the microfich
How do I know which one is the .40. They say the 761 is the one for 00-01 XR 400....so is this the .40 spring?
Anybody have an idea?

I can't answer your question but when I was researching the RaceTech fork springs I took out of my KDX I found the some years of the XR400 used that same spring. Search for the XR400 FAQ as it goes into some detail on the XR400 spring options.

There is usually an alternate spring available for any said model. One is probably progressive...

OK... here is the scoop..
51401-KCY-671 96-97 These are .38's
51401-KCY-761 98-02 These are what you want... they are .40's

Make sure that you are getting 2! I would call them to verify since I can't see it being for 1 spring but that is pretty cheap!
