What do you mean by the actuator arm moving through a 90 degree line? If pointing to the front of the bike is 0 degrees, pointing to the right is 90, the back is 180 and the left is 270 degrees, mine starts at about 270 and moves to about 310 degrees. And where do you put these shims? I have the cyclepedia manual and do not see anything about shims. I have the factory manual too, but not with me at this time. Thanks. What's the shim setup on your clutch pack? Check to be sure the arm is installed properly. It should move through a 90º line during actuation. As the clutch pack wears, more of a shim may be required to get that measurement.

Look in the repair manual.....It shows EXACTLY where the SHIMS are & where TO PUT THEM.....

Re: 'If pointing to the front of the bike is 0 degrees...'
Wrong 'if'.
The 90º applies to the joint at the end of the lever and the lever.
It's in the book. You've found it by now.
'Thru' 90º is the position in which you will get the most axial movement of the clutch rod..the most spring compression, the most plate separation.
Shim placement (pack thickness) determines that arc.

Crap...I can't buy mySELF a beer?
Put it on my Visa!! (...like everything else).
I have a scanner. Parallel. No such thing on this 'puter. I'd scan in the manual 'splanation..but I can't get 'there' from 'here'.
The 90º part will make sense if you look at it for a minute.....
