RACE SAG

Post by N8Strine »

What is the proper race sag for the KDX 90-100mm? I know I read somewhere maybe 95mm since it doesn't have quite the travel as a KX. Also what is the right static sag in mm? Oh this is for Hare Scrambles.

Step 4: 'Turn the preload nut to adjust rear spring....'

Seems much easier to me to turn the spring, which will turn the nut. Some soapy water on the bottom of the spring helps (spring has to turn against its seat). Leather gloves help get a grip on the spring.

No need to bang on the spanner ring with a hammer.

Of course...do the spring adjustment with the suspension completely unloaded.

Seems worthwhile to me to experiment on either side of some starting point (like the 100mm listed in the above link). I found I preferred 100 to 95 and 105. 5mm is quite a large change..but I didn't care for the 'direction' the handling went either direction from 100.

Check before every ride?

Doesn't everybody do that?

So are you running 95 or 100? Iam going to go with 95mm. Yea it is easier to just turn the spring and the spanner nut will turn with it.

Re: '..are you running 95 or 100?'

'I preferred 100 to 95 and 105'. 100 is my preference.

Maybe I should'a said, '..95 OR 105'.

4" to tell the exact trute about it.
