I found a very nice '88 KX80 bigwheel for my 12 yr. old. He currently rides a XR100 and is ready to move up.
He will be riding in 2 enduros and 1 harescramble with me this year, but just low key. Mosty just trailriding.
I cannot find any specs on this bike as in weight, front and rear disc brakes?, KIPS?, etc.
OEM and aftermarket parts are available, even a FWW from Steahly.
Anyone know anything about his vintage KX80? How much hit does it have?
1988 KX80 bigwheel for my son?

That FWW will help a lot! Being a non-powervalve motor they have more of an abrupt transition when getting on the pipe. I'm sure a lot could be had in the way of porting, but a lot of times you can't reverse a 'top end' port configuraion....Which was done at the factory. It's not going to kill him. I rode one on some nasty MD trails when I was a tike....Stock.
