Search for a new seat cover

Post by gertie6car »

Hi Guys,

I need your help in sourcing a new seat cover for my rebuilt KDX200 E2 1990. Any ideas on where I can get one? all the ads I have seen are for the later models! I hope someone can help!

Had the bike out yesterday, what a blast, so much grunt for a 200!! So pleased I bought it as a project! Now I am thinking about a later model, how do they compare?

Have a great new year

I've just finished putting an 89 together. I got the seat cover on ebay. There are quite a few there.

I bought the gripper seat cover. I had to heat it up quite a bit in the drier to be able to stretch it to fit, but it turned out pretty well.

Hi juliend,

thanks for the info. I had spotted the second item and asked if it would fit a stepped base as found on the 89/90 models. The answer that came back was "it was not a stepped type" so I did not pursue! Does it have seems?

I want to cut the seat down an inch or so (vertically challenged lol!) having fitted the gripper seat cover do you think it would work on a cut down seat?

thanks in advance

I used a Ceet Gripper KX500 seatcover on mine, at the time only the POS blue stock covers were available for "E" series KDX's
