I would like to make my 1999 KDX 200 a street legal bike for an occational ride to the trails (no long rides for sure on the street). Any tips are appreciated. I live in Georgia and I am not sure how strict they are here about DS conversions.
Thank you,
Brent.

Many folks think it is equipment, but the hurdle is usually the title.
The equipment requirements are usually not that great and full blown DS kits are rarely required.
You need to take whatever paperwork you have on the bike and visit a near by DMV/Tag office.
I would not go to the DMV/tag office that you plan to finally go to as you may learn a work around that you can use later.
Tell them what you want to do, and see what they require.
I believe GA also requires insurance.

Most likely the title work will also require some equipment mods.
Here's a link from an earlier thread on some equipment mods that may be necessary for DSing your KDX:

Here is some more info that you might find useful. Pertains to the technical part of the upgrade....
