The kickstart assembly is wore out on my kdx, just wondering where would be a good place to find one. The cheapest I found one is $70.00 @ cheapcycleparts.com. I was just wondering if someone makes a billet one that would be a little stronger.

Yes if you are talking about just the arm FRP makes an aluminum one, I have one and its really nice to sit on the bike and kick as it is shorter and closer to the bike than the stock. If you want a stock Ill sell you mine.

I actually need the whole assembly, the part that the lever mounts to is worn out too. Im sure you just have the lever.

Doesn't a mid '90's KX125 lever bolt right up?
Don't go buy one, woodsy, wait for confirmation.

FRP will sell both the lever and and the knuckle.
The lever goes on the knuckle, the knuckle slips over the splined shaft sticking out of the transmission.

I've bought two of FRP's lever assemblies. One has been on my current bike for over a year and the other is on a bike I sold and is still kicking after three years.

Good parts ARE cheap in the long run....

What you want is an FRP kicker and an OEM knuckle, as already said. Get the o-rings and the clip at the same time.

If you get the bright idea to put it together with LocTite, do NOT get any sealant on the splines at the knuckle joint.

Just the boss/orings are like $60 from bike bandit and the like.

No one said they where cheap in the short run........

I've always found the FRP lever to be more cumbersome, than useful

Not much of any way to kick through without slamming your toe into the footpeg (just ask the poor sumbitch that has to resole Carvr's stinky boots every couple years)

That's true.

The post was about something stronger..billet material, NOT particularly length.

The FRP lever IS a shorty. The top of your boot will not longer pass beneath the footpeg. The sole of your boot will hit the footpeg, and care need be taken to not tear up the bottom of the boot.

btw...I'd be happy if I had to resole my boots every couple years. It was doing it after every couple RIDES that got to be bothersome.

I would be concerned if a 10-year old girl had feet that fit into a men's size 9.

I did not know men's sizes went down that small

I just got a lever on ebay for a 89 KDX200 and put it on my 98. It was just an inch longer but otherwise bolted up/fit perfectly, less than $20. the 98 lever was pointing backwards about 30 degrees, totally shot.

Dang, times have changed. When I lived in the Great NW, no Yetis went to school all the way to the 3rd grade. Most of them washed out at the flea inspections, the rest ran afoul of the system for such things as cookie snatching and eating the class rabbit.

Eating the rabbit was OK. It was dead anyway. Had something to do with a positive test about something or other on some girlfren or other?
