97' 220 gas cap
Hey, Im new to this forum, and Im new to owning a kdx. I just bought a 97 220r, it has a 3.3 gallon clark desert tank on it and I was wondering if the gas cap is the same as the stock one. The cap on it now says clark on it. I was wanting to order a billet cap but want to make sure it will fit.

Might be better to write and ask Clark, eh?
You gonna put dingle balls on it too?

Hey Shane,
Glad to see you made it over here. You will find a ton of info and sarcasm at the same time.
Hope you enjoy the bike like I did. I took the KLX out yesterday in some tight nasty singletrack and she did great. I love the magic button and she torques right up and over anything. Definitely heavier than the old KDX, but I think I'll get used to it. Had a buddy stop by the other day who wants to take me down to Baja to do some riding, so I think I will throw a dualsport kit on it and try to get a plate.
If you have any questions about the bike just shot me a pm. I'll still be lurking around here.

I have a clarke "stock" size tank. My girlfriend's Honda TRX 400 quad gas cap works perfectly on it. I made a comment to a Clarke employee and he confirmed that a XR400 gas cap works really well. My guess is they might have made there mold based upon the XR. You might want to call to confirm or try to find a buddy with a XR or TRX but my guess is that a XR cap will work just fine. They have lots of aftermarket XR caps to look at.
WR sold. Now have 03 and 04 KDX 220s.
KXF 250 forks. RB Carb and Head. FMF rev pipe. Long live the KDX !!!

I saw something you might be interested in on craigslist in Seattle. A set of KDX forks with race tech valves and stiffer springs installed for $175.
