C.Clip part number?

Post by kdxquebec »

1989 200 kdx

Hi I have difficulties to find a part number on a http://www.buykawasaki.com diagram. This the c-clip behind the iddle gear thrust washer. The C-clip is on the shaft.

I can not identify this c-clip on any part diagrams...maybe I just look at the wrong place... Any Ideas?

Thanks

I don't understand 'behind' maybe...you do mean on the INside of the gear? Right?

I see the drawing added..and where you put 'c-clip'. Don't know why there would be a clip there. The gear should run against the thrust washer, not a clip.

Look at it another way? The parts diagram does show three clips by item number...480, 480a, 480b. But...there are TWO 480s. So...a total of four clips (one of 'em on the top of the kicker lever, so not really what you're looking for).

The '480' on the idler gear assy isn't what you're after?

...it's not on the INside of the gear.

If I'd had my kicker assy apart, I'd understand what you're after, but I have not...and I don't.

Sorry for my ignorance..but the gear you're referring to rides on...what? The 92002-1601 bolt (shown in 'crankcase') that screws into the case?

Again...why would there be a clip on the INside on that 'shaft'?

See? I AM lucky to have never had to fool with mine. It just works!

knock wood.

You're welcome for the absolute lack of any help this post provides!

I will reply to one question for now

RE:The '480' on the idler gear assy isn't what you're after

---No

Thanks for the help

BTW I do not have kickstarter problems... Knock wood too!!

I took off the right side cover for an other reason and I just want to know the part number of this c-clip because I think it is too loose...I just want to order and replace it since the cover is open...Just to be safe.

I will take a picture soon (should be less difficult for you!!)

I looked at that diagram, but didn't recall without actually looking at it which gear of the kicker mech fit where. I couldn't tell from the separate diagrams either which shafts came out where.

So...you're all set?

Yes. I ordered the part. Belive it or not your ''absolute lack of any help post'' helped. I was stuck in diagrams...standing there alone, imagine the situation with all the gears in hands!!! I will close the right side cover as soon as I will get the parts...stay close just in case!

:hmm:

In regard to those part diagrams...that has happened to me more'n once. The part I'm looking for is not at ALL where I KNOW it should be. Some 'fork' things are in the 'wheel hub' diagram...some KIPS parts are in the 'cases', some in the 'cylinder', some in the 'head' etc.

That was the point of saying, '... the gear you're referring to rides on...what?' I thought the answer to that question would lead to the correct diagram.

Believe it or not!!
