Wiseco Piston Kit ????

Post by jc7622 »

I was looking at the Wiseco piston kits on RockyMountainMC. The picture doesn't show a wrist pin or bearing. Has anyone ordered a piston kit from them? Did it include the pin and bearing?

I believe you have to order them separately

I bought piston+bearings from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC and you must buy the 2 separately.

That's cause it's only generally changed w/ the rod. Not that changing it is a bad thing...

There's a ships-passing-in-the-night thing going on here, folks..

Question: Does the piston come with pin and bearing?

Answers: Order separate and 'piston+bearing' separate.

..which leaves out exactly what of everything you need is or isn't in the 'kit'. Well..as I understand what I read anyway. I don't understand too good sometimes. I don't get the 'implied' parts of missing facts a good lot of the time.

The Pro-X piston (from MaKaw) will come with a pin..and with clips, but not the bearing, not rings. The Wiseco comes with rings, clips, and the pin..but not the bearing.

I have NOT ordered such from RMMC myself.

The description of the Wiseco 'kit' says:

Piston kit includes piston, rings, wristpin and circlips.

I just looked up a KDX 200 'kit' Part# 1038400057. That is the description for that 'kit'. I asked via a 'chat' window:
I wrote:Re:Part# 1038400057, Wiseco 'kit'. I would like to verify that the description is correct..piston, rings, pin and clips...but NO bearing..right?

The chat window sayeth:

OkeyDokey?

Oh...Wiseco Piston Wristpin Bearing:

Fits: 2000, KAWASAKI, KDX200
Regular: $14.95
Our price: $11.99
Part# 1038430008
This item is In-Stock

I'd never re-use a pin or clips. I've never re-used a bearing..but I might be tempted next time I don't have one on-hand.

Certainly never use a Pro-X pin/clips with a Wiseco. I'm sure that's intuitvely obvious to the most casual observer.

This should be an old story..but make sure those clips SNICK into place. Time was when Wiseco pins were a tad long...poorly/improperly seated clips came OUT..and that NOT at a good time!!

Otay.

I thought it odd that it wouldn't also include the bearing, but I guess it doesn't. I didn't want to order the above-mentioned kit, assuming it had everything, only to discover when it arrived at he end of the week that it didn't include the bearing...CRAP. Once again kdxrider.net saves the day.
