I personally think the devol water pump guard is a bad design. If it were to take a hit it just snaps the bolts off. May protect the pump while it's at it, but you're screwed regardless. The pans that have in integral pump guard are the way to go, and I think the off-road specialties model does that. Fortunately, the KDX has a built in pump guard too.

Yeah thats what I've been saying for 5 yrs nowJeb wrote:I'm going to buy some 1/8" or 1/4" aluminum plate (drops from a local metal fabricator) and make my own. Cheaper and I can customize for more protection.

[quote="Jeb"]The Devol assy for the "H" and "A" (220) KDXs look like what's shown below. The difference between this and what I've seen for other aluminum plate offerings is the water pump guard.
The devol guard makes your engine sound like it's ready to explode.
It reflects and amplifies all engine noise and vibration.
Junk

I always thought Devol stuff was hammered out metal by cavemen. Looks like crap but works.

I actually forgot about you mentioning that on the H&M ride . . . I wonder how much other skidplates do the same since they all look similar for the KDXTWMOODY wrote:Jeb wrote:The Devol assy for the "H" and "A" (220) KDXs look like what's shown below.
