Couple of Product Questions...

Post by paceyman »

Yep - Tried the search first and was unsuccessful so sorry if I am repeating earlier questions.

1) Is the FRP handlebar clamp standard or oversized? The site does not say.

2) Does the FRP Torque Ring actually give you some additional lower end and is it worth it?

3) Need to order some pilot and main jets - who do we recommend using?

Thanks - time to make some changes.

1. It's only the upper clamp, so it's 7/8"

2. It will shift the power down a few hundred RPM...There are a lot better things to spend your money on for low-end. Search RB carb mod.

Okay then... I'm looking for an oversize set of mounts for my stock triple tree. What are we using out there?

I'll pass on the ring and work with my local dealer on the jets.

To mount 1 1/8" bars to the stock triples, you can use a riser kit that mounts to the stock bar clamps. I've seen these gizmos included in some bar packages. I thought I saw Scotts offering a cleaner method with new bar clamps that go into the stock triple.

This is the setup i've got.

The clamp bolts are completely useless and will break unless you're good enough to never fall.
