air filter box

Post by jswag »

OK is there any way to get a clean air filter back in the airbox. The dang box isnt big enough,i end up cramming it in there knocking dirt and who knows what in with it.I clean out the box real good before i take it out to clean, but there is still the issue of tearing the filter. Is there some kind of Japanese puzzle involved?

No puzzle..but a snug fit.

Squeeze the filter/basket some, angle it, put into place with a rotating action.

You will still touch/rub..but nothing close to the force that would make a tear.

this may be silly but make sure you have the lid off it took me a while to realise that there was a lid on my air box as it had a huge hole cut in it but still not as big as with it removed

Ha! Good point!!!

Is that the case? Are you trying to get the air filter out/in through the snorkle hole?

Now THAT would be tough!!!

The lid is off when the spark box bolted TO it is hanging outside the frame rails. Assuming you don't unbolt said sparky box...which is a bit more friendly to the wiring harness.
