UPDATE:
Removed the top of the air box completely. MUCH improved. Still some stuttering in the lower gears, but that may be a result of me holding it in gear too long? I took it out in the neighborhood tonight, in a drizzle, and wound it up. Massive improvement. I also drained the Maxima 32:1 and popped in my pre-mix of choice, Dominator at 40:1. I think the KIPS is fine, because this bike is close. I can feel the potential is there. If I could get it beyond third gear, I bet it would really pull.
This is an awesome wheelie machine though. Just snap it up. My son thinks I am god.

I rejetted it today. It had a 42 pilot and a 148 main jet in it. I tried 40 and 140 and much, much improved! It comes right on the pipe and pulls quite well. I do need to get it out to the dirt and see how it does in the upper gears. I may go up a little, maybe 142 main. However, I am happy for now.
Thanks for the suggestions!
