False neutral - How to fix

Have 2 KDX 220s. Both maintained well. 1 bought brand new about 2 years ago the other was used. Change oil methodically as well as all other general maintencance.

Both bikes when upshifting from first to second routinely shift into neutral. Not good thing when on a hill climb, etc.

Can anything be done to improve this without spending too much money. Check/replace 2nd gear? Shifter forks? Help. Thanks, Steve

Try different oils until you find one that works. It doesn't matter if your spending $20 on oil now... it doesn't make it any better than $3 oil if that's what works.

Rotella Dino right now. Started using it when I had a WR with a rekluse auto clutch. Change oil every 2 - 3 rides.

I've tried everything from Mobil 1 synthetic to mixtures of ATF with Delo 400 to get rid of that problem and what ended up working best for me was Cheveron Supreme 10w-40. Sometimes the cheaper strait stuff works best.
