96/97 KDX motors same?

Postby ebeck » 11:13 pm May 12 2008

Was there a difference in 96 to 97 motors. I recall different part numbers for 96, almost like 96 was unique somehow. I got a 96 jug but not sure if it will fit on my 97-06 motors. Some items of concern, Kips actuator the same, bolt pattern the same or different, heads from 97 work?

Thanks

Dang, I wonder why i saw different part numbers for 96. Ahhh, maybe that was 95? I recall one year in between the old motor and the new one where there was oddball part numbers.

Ahh well whatever. I remembered wrong in this case. Thanks.

95 had some different parts. Clutch springs I know of for sure. That being said they are the same motor regardless...Just some improved parts(sate fitment) that came in 96....Stayed the same until end of life.
