Break-in period?

I'm sure it's been talked about, but the search function doesn't seem to be working right now. Anyway, how long should regular 2 stroke pre-mix be used before switching to synthetic? I plan on using Amsoil synthetic, but want to be sure rings are seated, etc. before switching. Thanks!
