"NEW" Mobil oil for the clutches?

Hey guys...
I just bought the new Mobil oil and was just wondering if this is the right stuff... I hate it when they change something as important as this! :evil:

What does it say on the top half of the circle??

I don't know if they are still making the "standard" synthetic oil, but they now have 5,000 mile dino oil, 7,500 synthetic blend and 15,000 pure syntetic. I THINK! :mrgreen:

That should be it. No friction modifier comment or improved fuel economy comments. But then again, look at the source of this opinion.

What differences do you notice between 10W-40 and the 15W-50?

All the new 2006 KDX250's with the factory HP pipes and 36mm carbs and USD KDX forks are getting that oil.
'04 220 w/'01 KX250 USD forks, '02 RM125 Showa shock, Rekluse EXP 3.0, LHRB & all RB'd

SL- For 2001 Gasoline Engine Service
Recommended for gasoline engines in passenger cars and light trucks starting in July 2001. SL oils are engineered to provide improved high temperature deposit control and lower oil consumption. Applications specifying API SJ can use the new API SL service classification. Note that some (This is not) SL rated oils may also meet the latest ILSAC specification and/or qualify as energy conserving. SL is the latest specification.

CF-For 1994 Off-Road Indirect Injected Diesel Engine Service
API Service Category CF denotes service typical of off-road, indirect injected diesel engines and other diesel engines that use a broad range of fuel types, including those using fuel with higher sulfur content (over 0.5% wt sulfur fuel). Effective control of piston deposits, wear and corrosion of copper-containing bearings is essential for these engines, which may be naturally aspirated, turbocharged or supercharged. Oils designated for this service may also be used when API Service Category CD or CE is recommended. CF is a current specification.


All looks good! Now I gotta say, Gold cap 15/50! :razz:

Check your local parts store clearance/discount shelves. I picked up a few quarts of the red cap 15w-50 at my local Checker Auto Parts. I also saw some at a Pep Boys in Phoenix last week.

I just rode 50+ miles on Friday with a quart of that stuff in my motor. I had 2 bottles of the red cap and bought a gold cap. When compairing labels, I could find no difference. When on the trail, I could tell no difference. Worked the same as ever, which means, it works good!!!
I'm planning on using it until I hear different.
