Top clamp and 1 1/8 bar setup; what are you using?
Just curious what others are using for 1 1/8 bars. I want a new set of bars as my 7/8 Renthals are about 10 years old and bent.
Has anyone gone with a new top clamp?

I bought the "MOOSE" Flex Bars-Mini Version. By Mini, I mean the bars are approx. 30 inches Wide & Sweep Back. I bought the 1 1/8 Bar Mount Conversion Kit. It bolts in to your existing bar mounts & raises the bar height upwards approx. 7/8 - 1 inch.

I use the Moose mini bars and "Pit Posse" big bar adapters ($35?). Search ebay for them, I think rocky mountain ATV also sells their own brand of adapter. The mini bars are a bit cramped for fitting all the controls and buttons, but they work. I am going to look at the "Burlson" bend next time around, a little bit wider.

I did the front end conversion and had trouble coming up with the correct top triple clamp and a Vortex clamp with oversized bar mounts came up on eBay for cheap. So I bought it and replaced the whole upper clamp.

Also, what I did is cut the Bar Mount Pad, that came with the Bars & Universal Bar Clamp Adapters (Two Pads), & Placed my Trail Tech in the padding. I then cut some heavy plastic & wrapped it around the Padding & Trail Tech. I'll have to take a Pic of it.

I installed the Scott's upper triple clamp and stabilizer (all in one kit). Looks great, but it is a bit overkill for my bike. Especially when/ if I decide to put the KX forks on it. Fortunately, I don't ride fast enough that the stock forks are a hinderance. I am thinking of putting some 1 1/8 bars on my dual sport (XT225). There are some bar clamps that fit into the standard 7/8 clamps. Technically they are risers, but that is kind of what I'm looking for on the Yamaha. They are relatively cheap, but I am not so sure about the engineering concept. It may put more stress (leverage) on the stock clamps. Not sure if it is safe for jumping and such, but then I don't do much of that. Except on accident!

I tried it... it wasn't impressive but it did do a little... but not on big hits. On the KX frontend it works as advertised.... very confidence inspiring.
