Hey guys,

Found a 2001 kx 250 pipe used locally for cheap.
I have a 2001 kdx 220...Checked the parts on an online fiche and they are the same- same picture, etc....

can anyone confirm that the pipe'll fit? its a Bill's Pipe

THANKS!

doubt it'll be a straight fit. But as always with enough time, money ingenuity, cussing and beers, everything can be adapted...

If you get it and it fits, by all means let us know . . .

Never trust a picture of anything........

BK's Whopper looks like the picture on their menu board? Ha! Never!!

Besides that, web pics are notoriously wrong. FmF's pipes all look about the same to me. Torque? Rev? It don't matter, according to the pics.

If the exhaust ports 'tween a KX250 and a KDX220 are the same, I would be very surprised.

...not to mention that the frames of the two bikes aren't even close. Heck...not even made of the same metal!

To answer your question, no. I cannot confirm that it will fit.

I would bet you it won't, though stranger things have happened.

I know a guy that runs a KX250 pipe on his 220. It's been done with good results at an even gooder price.

Kinda pointless if you can buy a pipe that fits and made for the bike... but... if it's local...take the pipe off your bike and take the bike over to see if it fits before you buy it.

I am always amazed at all the things 2001kdx knows...and most of them diametrically opposed to generally accepted thought, too! An 'outside the bun' thinker for sure!!

Cheers!

I hung onto both my KX250 and my KDX pipes after the fire. I'll measure the header tube and see if they are the same. I think the KX250 is a bigger diameter though.........

I looked at the two side-by-side years back...and I remember that to be plainly so.

Pipe o-rings on a 250? 50mm.

On a 220? 39mm.

See? The cross-fit is almost perfect!

I know a guy that runs a Kerker four-into-one header on his KDX. It's been done with good results!!!

OOohhhhh yeah.....

I've run absolutely no header on the KDX - lots more fun, cuz it wakes up more neighbors and the cops chase you - with good results too!

I was probably talking out of my ass when I said the KX250 pipe fit well, but I was only simply trying to answer the question, considering I've seen a 220 running a KX250 pipe, it CAN be done.

Should it? Not that I can see, hell, I'm as cheap as they come and I still managed to get an FMF Fatty pipe for my KDX, K-30 on the tab too carvr
