Re: ' ..kicked me leg off for about a min, then choked it. It fired up,'

Oops. I missed that part earlier......... Sorry.

You're on the right track. Clean the fuel system (drain the tank, reverse flush the petcock while your at it, burnish the float valve seat, check the needle for wear, etc), jet it 1/2 right, and it will probably be fine.

I'll bet most 'used' bikes will have wheel, steering, suspension bearing problems. Few riders take their bikes apart the couple times a year it takes to keep all that up to snuff.

Speaking of which.....

Re: 'Not sure you can call that riding..'

Careful...you're turning yellow with envy..........

okay, she's running now!

Tore apart the carb, it was full of black goo. Cleaned it well and replaced the mj and pj.

Drained the tank, it didn't even smell like gas, more like kerosene. It was about three different colors as i was pouring it out.

I cleaned the tank out good, made sure the petcock was clean and did a back flow on it to clean it out.

Cleaned air filter.

Added fresh gas mixed @ 50:1 w/ Amsoil Interceptor.

Added new NGK BR8ES and gapped it properly.

Started first kick, ran for about 5 seconds, and died. Wouldn't start back.

So i pulled the plug, it had a yellowish colored film on it that smelled the same as the old gas. I tried to light the goo on the spark plug with a cigarette lighter, and it wouldn't even light, so i knew a little spark wasn't going to ignite it and let it burn off.

So i burned off the goo on the plug, put it back in, started first kick, ran for maybe 6 seconds and died.

I did the same process about ten times until it fired up and ran like it was brand new. My friend rode it the whole day sunday, i put a smaller pj in it and adjusted the needle to the 4th clip. That took care of the spooge problem and spark plug fouling, because we putted around all day.

So, problem solved. Thanks again to you guys for the suggestions
