Magura Clutch

Post by skythrasher »

Today A buddy gave me a Magura that he had mounted on a YZ250F that he sold. Does anybody have pics of a magura mounted on a KDX200. I am wondering how to mount the slave cyl. I may have to replace the slave cyl. but that would be all the cost I have in it. Any help would be great.

I think you can find a pdf file describing the installation of the Magura on their website.

Tell it how it goes . . . and what you think of your upgrade when you get there!

Found the pdf last night called and ordered the correct slave cylinder today. I hope it works good. The master cyl, that I have has a place for a hot start. I may see if I can adapt that to operate the choke. I think that would be cool.

Doesn't the slave cylinder 'push'? What does it push AGAINST?

I'm looking forward to a pic or two when you're done!!

No the slave cylinder pulls. I mounted up the slave that I have and it will almost work just not quite enough attachment length. It is 54.5mm and I need 68mm.

Got the slave cylinder in yesterday and mounted it up. This thing is great. Very easy to bleed, and mount. The routing doesn't really matter that much because it is not a cable. As far as operation goes, how many e's are in the word sweet. Effortless clutch pull, very smooth and easy lever adjustment for position. Will post some pics tonight, I'm going riding.

As far as a ride report I love it. It seems to be much easier to operate I would guess at least 25-30% less pull. It is also very linear and seems to provide a great feel. It is like you have more feedback from the lever as to what the clutch is doing.

Yes I called magura and ordered the correct slave for the KDX. The part # is 0120653. I am pretty sure that this slave cylinder will fit several models.
