Post by WOLFYMAN »

During the first lap of a hairscramble I noticed my bike soundeed wried. When I stopped I seen the kick lever was down around the peg. I stopped and pushed it back up. it would start the bike but once you kick it would not return back up. Any help please.

Your return spring is broken. I have never replaced one but I am sure someone here has.

Oh yea, Jeb (if you're reading this thread). That is another flaw with the little KTM 50's. They go through kickstart gears. We are on our third.

the spring is easy to replace, do it NOW, you don't want any broken pieces wandering in the case causing a LOT more damages.
Drain tranny
remove pipe
undo the KIPS actuator and SUPPORT the little bugger (don't forget it's an opposite thread)
remove nut and kick
remove right side cover
remove nut and broken spring
I think that's it
make sure you get ALL the pieces out
