1995 KDX200 Shock Internals Pictures

Post by KDXGarage »

Just in case anyone is interested, here are some pictures of the internal components of a 1995 KDX200 shock. These are from when I worked on IndaWoods' shock recently. 1989 - 2005 KDX200 / KDX220 shocks look similar internally. 1988 and older shocks look a good bit different.

Hi, skipro3. Yes, that is the stock piston. That is the top view (rebound side) in each picture.

EDIT: skipro3, here are a couple of pictures of the stock piston from a 1989 KDX200 shock. The first picture is the rebound side. The second picture is the compression side.

As best I can remember, the 1989 and 1995 pistons look the same. The stacks are different, but the pistons are the same.

Jason - Did you note (write down) the differences in the shim stack for the 95+ shocks vs the 89-94 shim stack?

I think I did. I would suggest you just check out the http://www.suspensionnetwork.com to compare them. He has valving listed for various year model KDX's. It would be a lot quicker than me trying to find them.
