93 KDX250SR

Post by pezvela »

Got a decent deal on a project bike that just had a complete engine rebuild, but is extremely rough around the edges. Anybody know where a service manual would be available? Planning a full strip, frame paint job, hopefully some plastic, graphics/seat cover and suspension rebuild. All I have found so far is a parts page in Japanese and have slowly been cross referencing parts with 91-94 KDX250's released in the states. Parts are hard enough to find, but living in Costa Rica it is next to impossible to find anything. Trying to find some parts sources online. Pura Vida!

BTW, could a mikuni carb be standard issue on this bike? I am almost positive this is whats on the bike. http://www.carbparts.com/mikuni/tm_flatslide_expl.gif
Trying to jet this thing (fouling regularly) and it had a 180 main in it, swapped it out for a 165 and it seems a little better and the plug cleaned off a lot. The pilot and needle are of unknown size and my low end is boggy with no idle. Any help or pointers would be great.

This manual http://www.cyclepedia.com/amember/go.php?r=57&i=l8

would be about as close to an actual KDX250 manual as I think you will find. There are a few 250 owners on this board that could really help with jetting and most anything else you might need.

Welcome to the forum!

*EDIT*

Just noticed you have an SR model which are the international models. These will differ some from the American release.

Yeah they are different....exactly what all of the differences are still remains a mystery to me. A lot of the parts I cross referenced with the US KDX250 matched, but some didnt.
