Pirelli 120/110-18
Anybody out there run a Pirelli 120/110-18 rear tire on thier KDX? I just bought one for my 2000 KDX 220. The guy at the shop I got it from said it would fit with no problems but it looks kind of huge to me. Is it too big for my bike?

It should fit. I run a 110/100-18 Pirelli MT16 and there's looks to be plenty of room, so there ought to be room for a slightly bigger aspect ratio. It IS a big tire, though. Purportedly they're great for big bore bikes that have tons of power (like a 300 or 525 for example) for the extra bike. For your KDX, traction will be so good that getting a little wheel spin when and if you need it will be harder. Which may not be a problem; who knows, maybe it's the ticket.

I have one its a GREAT TIRE, BUT, It CHUNKS, ALOT. It does wear like Concrete though. But since "Dunlop" is giving me a partial sponsorship, I can't beat the price per tire

I run Maxxis Desert IT 120/110-18s and love 'em. I've also run the Pirelli MT-44 (the paddle shaped one) and that was a 120/110-18 and it fit fine as well. The MT-16 shouldn't be any problem. Even if it turns out you dont like it, wear it down and replace it faster. At least here ires don't last more than 4 or 5 good rides before being replaced.

No power issues & it's comparable to the D756 performance wise. The D756 is a bit better imo

Update. Got 3 rides in with the 120/110-18 Pirelli MT 16 and it is great! Still looks like new. Traction is great and just what I need for the tight, muddy, root filled wodds out here. Can't put a finger in what made the most improvement but I've got fresh Pirelli tires, rebuilt 2003 KX125 front end, rebuilt rear shock and fresh grease in the shock linkage. The bike s 100 times better than it was....I'm going right through stuff that would have put me down before. Highly recomend these mods and tires.
