Glass bead blasting...

Post by k.d.x. »

I bought a bead blaster and want to know what you all think about glass bead blasting the brake rotors, of course off the the wheel. Do you think that would mess anything up?
Thanks

Have not tried it with mine, but if I did, it would be a fairly quick pass at reduced pressure.

What pressure do you run yours at typically? I have mine set at 90psi but I find that the tank runs out of that pressure too quickly and I have to wait for it to pressure up again. Have you found a middle of the road pressure that maximizes the pressure/time ratio?
thanks

Depends on your compressor. If you install another tank as a holding cell, you can extend the blast time...or a *slightly* smaller nozzle in the gun may be an option, depending on blast media size.

The cabinet's regulator is typically set at 55-70 psi, however gauges can fib. At least mine do, anyway.
