Sta-bil in premix?

Post by Ondatrail »

I have just about a full tank and was wondering if it effects it in a negative way. It would have to be more then a little diffrence for me to just dump it though because we all know gas isn't cheap

Maybe I'm just lucky but I've never used it

I've stored my KDX for over a year and a half with a partial tank of fuel in it. It started with just a few kicks and ran fine

I recently pulled my Harley X90 out of storage. Gas in it was over 7 years old and it started within 10 kicks

Have an old Husky chainsaw that was stored the same way and duration and it started right up

I run premix in my mower and it starts up easily every springso far, going on 8 years now with the original plug in it

I think there's more problem of the varnish film in a carb drying out. Just shut off the petcock, tip the bike over to let the carb pee/drain dry, then forget it until the next riding session.

Good idea but I just use cleaning solevant. My grandfather washes EVERYTHING in gas and now his fingernails are peeling off. Just wear gloves!
