If i leave the gas on, the bike drips when on side stand...
Can someone tell me why? I dont remember this happening before I did the top end... hmmmm...
In other words, if i turn on the bike and ride, then come back and leave the gas on and put the bike on it's kickstand gas drips out one of the overflow hoses...

Make sure your carb is clean, maybe you have some grit somwhere.
I've heard that the float bowl height could also be the culprit.
Just do what most do: turn off your gas everytime you stop, and forget to put it back on when you ride

Don't worry about it dripping gas when the petcock's 'on'. It will probably do it with it OFF TOO!
Certainly float heigth will do it. So will any impediment to float movement...like a bit-o-grit that was mentioned. Also, if the bowl was off, insufficient care on reassembly can tweak a float. That will effect the float level..and a float that rubs on the bowl isn't going to work as it should.
A failing needle and/or a dirty seat will do it, too.
So will a worn out/damaged kickstand!

A dirty seat?

Be sure you have your carb oriented right. There is a notch in the rubber boot that goes to your reed housing. Loosen the clamps some and see if the carb will rotate to set a little more straight up. I know from experience they can be out a few degrees and it will pee on ya. Be sure your notch is lined up with the tab on the carb. I know this sounds to elementary to fix anything, but my boot was worn enough I could move it a few degrees and it took care of the problem.

The KDX kick stand allows the bike to lean quite a bit when on a flat surface. Especially if the stand has been tweaked from a lay down. When on the trail its about impossible to find a flat area that wont make my bike pee. Sometimes I will kick a small stick or rock under the stand to make her stop. or just turn the petcock off. I just hate to shut her off every time I stop for a minute if fear of forgetting to turn it on and subjecting my cylinder to a extremely lean condition
.There is a very fine line between "to pee or not to pee", fuel that is. I May try turning my carb just a hair in favor of the stand side. see if that helps at all. My kickstand was bent on my 02. Made her lean far enough to make it pee even on a level surface. so I removed the stand, heated it up and bent it back in position to solve the problem. Not only does the stand get bent. The tab on the mounting plate can get tweaked also.
As far as the float level . I think that if your not peeing when the bike is leaned over just a tad farther than an unbent stand on level ground will let it lean, your float is set too low.

what does that mean woods?
I took the carb out the other day, put it back together and it started peeing again. Sigh. The only thing i can think of is that maybe i have the little hangers on the top of the float needle reversed that it lets in more gas. But something must be up because it pees a lot if on the kickstand. I'm going to dissasemble today again and flip the little "clip hanger thingy" around and see if that fixes it.
The kdx200 doesn't pee at all. not even a drop.
