Post by staxbrix »

My choke keeps turning on while im riding. I checked after I kicked it then I rode and it started reving. After I killed it I noticed the choke on turned it off and it happend over and over. I think it might happen when im putting it in 1st.

Sounds electrical . . . like maybe your grid-leak-bias drip pan

Done any work on the carb lately?

Maybe re-assembled it......incorrectly?

Does it feel like it wants to move on it's own?

Can you wire/tie it off, as a test, to see if maybe you are subconsciously reaching down and flicking it on.....inadvertently... or....maybe with your booties?

Does it click at the top? On mine I feel a "click" when I have the choke on and feel it when I disengage the choke. Being it is an 88 it maybe able to vibrate up. I know it is more likely to have the oposite problem of slipping down into the disengaged position, but if you are not doing it, is hitting it with the top your boot a possibility. :hmm:

when the choke turns on it pulls thats how I know the choke is on at first I thought I was out of gas. But noticed the choke on.

I drained the bowl a few weeks ago and cleaned the air filter. Didnt have a problem till the other day.

I could strap it down thats my next step I barely ever use the choke so it wont matter much. Just wanted to make sure there was nothing serious going on.

The boot isnt happening since its on the right side and my foot stays on the brake, only chance is when im kicking it but I checked after that.

It might just be too much vibration but thats weird.
