Anybody have one?
Curious as to how well they work- cost around $380, so not cheap.

YES THEY WORK, BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE YOUR SUSPENSION YET PUT THE MONEY THERE. THE DAMPENER WILL NOT HELP OEM FORK UNDER HANG GRAB OR FORK FLEX, WITH THE OEM FORKS GET A FORK BRACE OR KX FORK SET UP. I DID IT ALL BACK WARDS AND GETTING THE SUSPENSION RESPRUNG AND VALVED SHOULD A BEEN FIRST.

They work exactly as advertised. Listen to Krazy. Used with KX forks you will think you have the forearms of Popeye. There is no telling how many times it saved me in some nasty areas. They also reduce arm fatigue which makes for a more enjoyable and safer ride.

do you need one based on your fork years or your bike year??? R they even year specific????

No... they all require some modification anyway.

I completely agree. Get some USD forks. Get them revalved and resprung. Then get a steering stabilizer. But . . . when I was setting up my bike I got a Scotts/BRP top triple clamp that mounted a scotts stabilizer because I knew that would be my next purchase.

I am using KX250f 05 forks and am using the Scotts/BRP submount system - really nice but kinda spendy. The submount system unclutters your controls - makes it easier to use cross bar pad or computer system.

I think Scots makes the best stabilizer. Definately money well spent. It will prevent crashes -some - and let your ride faster with less effort.

I'm older (42) and plan on some easy trail riding- that's about it.
My thoughts were that my shoulders/knees and back are pretty poor, hence my EASY trail riding statement.
But, my thought/plan were that maybe the dampener would make life a little easier for my shoulders.

If you're interested in getting one that works...don't get a WER.

You won't likely find a Scotts for $380.

Scotts work..WER don't. Not comparatively speaking anyway.

I think they are a waste of money when used on properly set up USD forks on a KDX. A handlebar end to the groin now and then can wake a person up on the trail - so you can ride up to your potential. Once I was in a long enduro on a steering damper-equipped KDX and blew through two checks before a low tree branch finally woke me up.

I have a used WER damper in my closet, I was going to rebuild it so I could sell it to someone who didn't know any better, but a mouse ATE all the rubber stuff in the rebuild kit!! No kidding! Even the mouse knew the dang thing was worthless - only good for alimentary roughage.


PS, that guy's eyes sure are swollen...needs some visine I bet.
