Post by scheckaet »

Just wanted to share my humble experience on the matter. I know there are better guys out there but this is just a few pointers.
Enjoy!

Haha, nice! Perfect form! I can't wheelie for crap, I don't have the guts to do it. I've pulled it up (not as high as you) and held it for alittle bit but I just can't keep it going. The 450 is a different matter, 5th gear pinned and having the front end lift when you get some good traction is downright scary. Thank god it's only happened once!

lol
I hope so cuz you'd end up like i did! taking a few dirt samples
Funny thing I can wheelie much easier on my 400 DRZ, I am beginning to shift gears from 1st to 3rd, I found the power delivery MUCH smooooother on a 4 stroke.
If you really want to learn wheelies, here is a good tutorial

that one helped me a lot (but obviously not enough  ) so still need a lot of practice

I did the exact same thing last week and cracked my rear fender. I find my KDX somewhat difficult to wheelie comapred to other bikes I have owned. It's hard to get all the way up to the balance point but easy to get it too far up if that makes sense.

Got a few wheelie videos.

There's a wheelie in the last 20 seconds of this one :

And there's one right at the start of this vid. Sitting, using clutch like you.

This one ain't me, but it's worth a laugh!

Yeah same here, my rear fender is busted too, oh well
For some reason the kdx is hard to keep to the BP (Obviously at least to me  ) maybe cuz the front is so light, it seems like the BP is really small compare to my other bike + the different power delivery = dirt sampling

Suuuure! It seems to me the guy in the end broke a leg or sumthin
I can do power wheelies like you did , but this time I wanted to get to the BP, then shift...didn't work out so well
(note: I always cover the rear break, but I did not get a chance to use it! )
