What a mess that thing made. Inda nailed it . I wonder how that part got stessed enough to break?

I cleaned it up really good at the time but I'll know more when I take it apart. More pics to come!It may have failed due to excessive carbon build up on the KIPS ports which causes excessive pressure

FYI:
In spring of 2006 Vince turned me on to AMSOIL. I actually took a head off of my 220(to install RB modded head) and did a visual on the somewhat carbon coated piston and exhaust valves. It was a fairly new top end so it was not too dirty but definitely on its way there. I installed the Modded head and ran the bike with Amsoil for the summer and fall/winter. I pulled the head many tanks of fuel and months later to find that the top of the piston and exhaust valves were cleaner than they were when I put the head on. And the remaining carbon on top of the piston was soft and could be wiped away. I was amazed. I had to stop and wonder if, while I was sleeping, the KIPS ELVES had been climbing into my cylinder through my exhaust and cleaning things up a bit.
I use it in all of my 2 stroke engines now and I'll never use anything else!

I'm kinda late to the fray...
My first wonder was all the pics of all the stuff..but only an 'I checked it'..
The KIPS having just been done...the scrape on the basket gear...it all fit perfectly with what Inda said.
Re: 'did that'
..in regard to supporting the shaft.
Lest you do it again, please say what that means..what you did.
...'cuz it wasn't supported enough. That's why it broke off.
Feel lucky. Some guys have exploded the cases when they broke theirs.
The clutch needs to be replaced. The gear on the basket comes with the basket when you buy the OEM part.
Good luck!
..and don't overlook the KIPS dis/re-assembly. You did something to break it. Sorry 'bout that!

..when it came to the KIPS shaft. No such luck, the kips, the water pump, the kick start, I even checked the casings, all looks fine
